The second vintage for us from the English Hill vineyard and it is becoming a winery favorite. The vineyard exudes a true expression of Sonoma Coast Pinot with aromas of bright and lively red fruits highlighted by a smoked citrus component that mingle with juniper, sumac, tobacco and cedar. Slightly more stout in structure than its Russian River Valley brother; its cools site origins are apparent with the cranberry and pomegranate flavors wrapped up in lingering finish of citrus pith. Drink now or over the next 10 years. This wine will reward those with some patience.
"93 points - The 2014 English Hill Vineyard Pinot Noir opens with aromas of beautiful fresh red berries, spring flowers, and exotic spices with underlying hints of currant, pomegranate and earthy nuances. On the palate this continues impress with its elegant texture, balance and focus. The fruit is fresh and pure leading into the silky finish. While this certainly shows some early appeal, this will ultimately benefit with additional bottle age. This gorgeous Pinot should thrive over the course of the next 8-10 years."
